The Outdoor Ethics Guide helps the troop organize outdoor programs emphasizing the Outdoor Code, Leave No Trace principles, and Tread Lightly! principles. This role focuses on improving scouts' outdoor ethics decision-making to minimize environmental impact during hiking, camping, and outdoor activities.
Appointment
Appointed by the senior patrol leader with Scoutmaster guidance.
Responsibilities
- Ensures troop adherence to Leave No Trace, Tread Lightly, and Outdoor Code principles
- Supports scouts completing outdoor ethics requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks
- Sets a good example
- Wears the Scout uniform correctly
- Lives by the Scout Oath and Law
- Shows Scout spirit
