Appointed by the senior patrol leader with Scoutmaster guidance.
Requirements
- Minimum First Class rank
- Ability to work effectively with younger Scouts
Responsibilities
- Introduces new Scouts to troop operations
- Protects new Scouts from harassment by older Scouts
- Guides new Scouts toward earning First Class rank
- Teaches basic Scout skills
- Coaches the new-Scout patrol leader on duties
- Participates in patrol leaders' council meetings
- Counsels individual Scouts on challenges
- Sets a good example
- Wears the Scout uniform correctly
- Lives by the Scout Oath and Law
- Shows Scout spirit
